Kara (Young) Fincher is a singer, songwriter, and worship leader. Saved by the gospel of Jesus Christ, this Mississippi native now lives and works in Birmingham, Alabama. Kara is married to Caleb and has a deep love for hymnody, theology, and congregational worship.

Kara graduated from Samford University (2016) and Beeson Divinity School (2019). She currently serves as Associate Minister to College Students at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama where she leads worship weekly for college gatherings and disciples students. Kara often travels on the weekends to lead worship for various events.

She released an EP album, Take a Stand, in November 2011. Take a Stand is a six-track album that includes five original songs and one hymn. Her hope for this album was that the songs would magnify the goodness of the Lord, encourage the “broken and beaten,” and challenge believers to “take a stand” in and against the darkness that surrounds.

Familiarity, her second album, was released in October 2013. This album takes listeners through a journey of different seasons Kara walked through from late high school to early college years. Kara desires for these songs to bring glory to Christ as they teach listeners about full surrender at the cross.

Her most recent work, “Man of Sorrows, What a Savior,” “One from Two (The Wedding Song),” and “Come Away from Rush and Hurry,” can be found on iTunes and Spotify under “Kara Young.”
